The Extra® is a parody trailer and sequel to the 1994 film, "The Production Assistant."

This time around David Avallone lends his unique comedy talents to the role of The Extra. In pseudo poetic narration, The Extra tells of the glory of his profession as we follow him from one famous film to the next. He was a Stormtrooper in "Star Wars", a passenger in "Titanic," a highlander in "Braveheart," even a flying monkey in "The Wizard of Oz." We watch him study and train to become a better extra until he finally succeeds in landing a role in the sequel to "Outbreak," and "The Andromeda Strain," "The Los Feliz Strain."

In 1994 The P.A. went on to play all over Los Angeles to tremendous acclaim for 5 months on ten screens at a time. Since then, many have tried to mimic this parody with others but none have met with the same level of success.

Now years after making the P.A. with a bigger budget The Extra® is infused with a great deal more production value, making it that much better than its predecessor.

The Extra® premiered at the HBO/US Comedy Arts Festival, and ran on numerous screens in Los Angeles for 7 weeks.
