Bio

Philip Pucci was initiated into the world of the cinema in Paris at the age of 13.

At the age of 15, he enrolled in New York's bohemian Walden School, and simultaneously launched his career in film production as a production assistant on television commercials.

Pucci later earned a BA in film from the wildly eclectic film department of Bard College where he wrote, directed, and produced an experimental documentary on the 1984 presidential election entitled, "Mount America" -- tragically this film's negatives were destroyed in a fire which consumed the Upstate, New York home of his eccentric mentor Adolfas Mekas.

After graduating from Bard, Pucci studied with the late grand daddy of the American avant garde, Stan Brakhage.

Pucci has produced and directed nearly a dozen short subjects and videos.

His film "Beastie," featuring The Beastie Boys, continues to be excerpted and distributed as a music video by Capitol Records, MTV, and VH1.

Pucci's parody, "The Extra®" premiered at the HBO/U.S. Comedy Arts Festival and screened in theaters across Los Angeles.
